CALL TO ACTION VI

Today is #NationalVoterRegistrationDay – A day dedicated to celebrating our democracy and encouraging more people to make their voices heard by registering to vote.

READ MORE ABOUT #NationalVoterRegistrationDay HERE!

For many years, our community has been seen as a national example of missed opportunities due to our low voter turnout.

Our nation’s history of only passively encouraging our vote at best, and outright restricting our ability to vote in many instances impacts communities like LD29 more than others.

These are the efforts I fight against every day as your Senator. With your help, your voice and your vote, we can change this dynamic and force our seat at the table.

Today’s action steps are very easy ones. First, I need you to update your voter registration. Make sure you are registered at the correct address, with the political party that you prefer and update your preference for being on the Permanent Early Voter List so that you receive your ballot by mail.

Second, make sure your spouse, your kids, your neighbors, your extended family, your co-workers, your friends, etc. do the same. They can register in just a few minutes online and all you need is your Driver’s License number and your Social Security Number.

REGISTER TO VOTE OR UPDATE YOUR REGISTRATION HERE!

Third, post on all of your social media platforms that you participated in #NationalVoterRegistrationDay so that others can see and be influenced to do the same! You can use this sample post below:

I just updated my voter registration online at ServiceArizona.com so that I can join @SenQuezada29 and make my voice heard in the next election! Visit the site now to register to vote! #NationalVoterRegistrationDay

Thank you again for your activism. Together, we can create the AZ, the U.S.A. and the world that we all know we are capable of. More substantive action steps will be coming every week on a variety of different issues, so stay tuned!

As always, it is a privilege and an honor to serve as the voice of the people of LD29 as your State Senator. I’m proud to be your champion to challenge the status quo, give you a voice at the Capitol and promote the belief that justice, opportunity and prosperity should be available for all.

Grading The People’s Senator

GRADING THE PEOPLE’s SENATOR!

I’ve collected most of them here for you so you can see a comprehensive “report card” for how the most respected organizations in AZ believe I’ve performed for you as your Senator.

Keep reading to break down each of the grades, and see links to each organization’s individual report card

VISIT THE AEA’s WEBSITE HERE!

Their scores are based on legislator votes on several bills that significantly impact students and AZ’s public school employees. The 2019 AEA Legislative Report Card gives quick summaries about each of those bills and how every legislator voted.

Working to Ratify the ERA

THANK YOU CITY OF GLOBE!

In a past email I mentioned how 37 states have voted to ratify an Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would to guarantee equal legal rights for all American citizens regardless of sex and how we only need 1 more state to ratify it to add the E.R.A. to our Constitution.

I testified before the Globe City Council to urge them to adopt a resolution urging the AZ Legislature to ratify the E.R.A.

Watch the video of my testimony before the Globe City Council urging them to adopt a resolution urging the AZ Legislature to ratify the E.R.A. at the 2:06:25 mark here!

In response to my efforts, a State Representative from LD08, Representative Cook urged the Council NOT to adopt the resolution, but we were still successful!

Last night the Globe City Council unanimously voted to approve the resolution urging the AZ Legislature to adopt the E.R.A.!

We definitely need to thank the Mayor and the members of the Globe City Council. Please take action and join me by emailing them below. You can use the pre-formatted emails by clicking on the buttons below and/or edit them to make them more personal!
